Tiesto
Tiesto, whose real name is Tijs Michiel Verwest, is a Dutch DJ and music producer who is widely considered to be one of the most influential figures in electronic dance music (EDM). He began his career in the early 1990s as a trance DJ and later transitioned to a more mainstream electronic dance sound.
Tiesto first gained international recognition in the late 1990s and early 2000s with his DJ sets at major dance music festivals such as Innercity, Dance Valley, and Homelands. He also released a series of successful mix compilations, including “Magik” and “In Search of Sunrise.”
In 2001, Tiesto released his debut studio album “In My Memory,” which featured the hit single “Silent.” The album helped establish Tiesto as a major figure in the trance music scene and won him the award for Best Dance Album at the 2002 Dutch Music Awards.
Tiesto’s career continued to soar in the mid-2000s, with the release of his second studio album “Just Be,” in 2004, which featured the hit single “Adagio for Strings.” The album was a commercial success and earned Tiesto the Best Dance Album award at the 2005 Dutch Music Awards.
In addition to his successful albums and DJ sets, Tiesto has also been a regular presence on DJ Magazine’s annual “Top 100 DJs” list, reaching the top spot in both 2002 and 2003. He has also been a frequent headliner at major music festivals such as Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Ultra Music Festival.
